AkLRC sponsored repro seminar in Anchorage - Jan. 2012
The Alaska Labrador Retriever Club is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring Dr Cheryl Lopate of Reproductive Revolutions for a two-day seminar on Jan 21 & 22, 2012 in Anchorage. For those who don't know her, Dr Lopate is the co-owner of Reproductive Revolutions and Wilsonville Veterinary Clinic, both of which are veterinary practices in Oregon that offer general reproductive services, infertility workups, as well as reproductive referral, specialized diagnostic care and advanced reproductive techniques for both companion animals and equine patients. Dr Lopate is a diplomate of the American Collage of Theriogenologists (the study of reproduction). She is planning to address multiple topics associated with breeding canines.
Dr Lopate plans to address such issues as:
1) Types of AI available and choosing the types of semen to use with them
2) Infertility in the *****
3) Canine pregnancy and whelping
4) Semen collection and transportation
5) Maximizing fertility in the stud dog
6) Infertility in the stud dog
In addition to her regular seminar on Saturday, she will be offering a look at new reproductive techniques and veterinary practices on Sunday in a course that has been approved by the State of Alaska Licensing Board for 6 continuing education credits! So, talk to your vet about signing up! They must earn these credits anyway... why not invite them to attend and open up a dialog on current, advanced reproductive techniques? Breeders and medical professionals are invited to attend both days of the seminar but the CE day will be on Sunday, when Dr Lopate plans to go more into the technical side of reproductive therapy.
