Default HARD CHROME or BLACK ICE coating for 338/06 Ackley improved

Hey guys just wanted to get some opinions on the best coating for my O3-A3 it has a stainless Lilja barrel and the standard Parkerized Mil-Spec finish on the reciever. Im basically interested on the wear and tear on the black ice coating and how it holds up to the bush and weather. The Hard Chrome will most likley be from Accurate Plating and Weaponry, out of Alabama as they do most everybodys Chrome Jobs in the industry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Can't you get a plating that is black? That would look really good.

I have had several rifles coated by black ice and have been impressed with the finished product but have not done much field testing for durability.

You might drop mod elan a pm and see how he liked his?

Lee from BlackIce is a great guy and the rifle I had coated has held up well, before I had it coated it would rust like crazy during my coastal hunts. Not had any issues since it was done several years ago now.
