Thread: Homer winter charter recommendations.

  1. #1

    Default Homer winter charter recommendations.

I am planning a trip to AK from the lower 48 in a few weeks to look at a boat (shhhhh...don't tell my wife ). I fish all summer up at my cabin off of the Yentna but would like to take a stab at some winter fishing out of Homer. Sooo I would appreciate some recommendations for a good charter outfit for a cool day out on the water. Thanks!

    1875XA,

I would recommend Skookum Charters: http://www.akskookumcharters.com/ . Jim took me out 10/15/2011 and we picked up 4 kings, 2 keepers and 2 jacks, in about 45 minutes of trolling. His boat and gear are top notch, he knows how to catch fish and he is a nice guy.

    Here is his boat:

    Here is the catch:

    Default Black Friday Blackmouth

Had a break in the weather here today and went out to check some things at the cabin and trolled for an hour and landed this 18 lb. white king.
