Well folks, I'm 18, up here from Georgia. Have been doing a work/apprenticeship deal with a boatbuilder since earlier this summer. Looks like I'll be heading home to Georgia on or around December 10th. If possible, I'd love to give ice fishing a shot before I leave, as that is not an opportunity I often get back home, but at this point, I'm not even certain on when the lakes freeze to a safe level.
Is it somewhat realistic to think that there could be a safe level of ice on the lakes sometime in the days preceding the 10th of December? If so, what would be my best option as far as hooking up with someone who has the necessary equipment and some skills/experience?
Thanks in advance,
