    Default cottonwood

Went out to cottonwood creek yesterday. seems like I was the only one willing to brave the ice and cold. There were plenty of ducks, couldve benifited from other hunters but I brought home a few. Anybody else have any luck?

I scouted some new areas but did not find any ducks. How thick was the ice out there? Were you on foot?

I was on foot, the ice varied from 1/4" to 1/2". not strong enough to hold me so I had to break through every step. Yep, on foot with a sled.

I have to give you some respect for doing that on foot in the ice, that could not have been easy.

I ran down Rabbit creek that day. Ice jams were pretty serious on corners, but the boat did fine going through. Good ducks on the creek, and did pretty well. Even got a few pintail which were sort of unexpected, mixed in with mallards. I thought I heard some shooting over that way. Also heard a few shots that sounded like it came from the east end of duck lake. I knew I wasn't the only nut that was going to be out there.
