Default Thanks for the borrowed gear!

Well I got back from a last minute trip up north for bou. Once again I would like to give a shout out to EVERYONE who offered gear for my trip. Haven't had much of a chance to do anything outside of deer hunting lately so this was a special trip for me. Got a little bull and passed a few up, had a blast.

As a side note, my whites should have said one size fits 'most' not 'all' :-)

Shot at 23 yards after I cut off a herd about 1 mile from the road.

Congrats on a great trip Mr Gooch.

Awesome photo of the Ram, I would guess him right at 8 YO and legal on both sides, just barely. He looks wonderful in his winter fur and will be an incredible Ram in a few more years. When I draw a straight line across his tips they appear to extend above his bases with one side slightly longer.

His age rings are still widely spaced and he has a lot of space still between his horns, he does have a mature look to his body and a nice fat neck.

Stay warm and thanks for posting!!!

Love to see a ram like that still around after the season is over! Renewed hope for next season!! I was starting to think all the sheep had been killed, lord knows some big ones got tipped over this season!

They come through the bottom of the north side of Attigun Pass this time of year. Somewhere I have photos of a similar sized ram in late October. It was dark enough for the flash to work on my camera and when it went off he charged me for about 10 steps. Definately got the addrenaline going He kept milling about and I couldn't figure out why until we looked off to the other side of the road and there were about 20 ewes. We'd cut him off from his girl friends.

That ram will probably end up in the freezer of a subsistence hunter from wiseman

    Good job anyway.

Excellent assortment of game animals in this thread. Cool. I'd also call that ram legal. I couldn't say eight by rings but his left side is to the base from the front.
