Default Be very careful with arrow length! (graphic...)

From and email I recently received -

This photo was taken on a cell phone last week after the guy took his friend
to Bass Pro Shop to buy his first bow. The clerk was 'assisting' him in

zeroing it in, and, after shooting several arrows, making adjustments

etc., the clerk accidently handed him an arrow that was too short.

When he drew back, the arrow tip fell down onto his hand and he somehow

released it. They rode to the hospital with the bow in his buddy's hand

because it impaled his finger also! They are both archery amateurs (I'm

thinking the clerk is also?). I don't think the guy who got shot ever had

held a bow prior, let alone shoot one...OUCH!

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

Oh man oh man, the blood will flow as the arrrow is removed right now it's helping clot the wounds on hand and finger. A rage sure woulda jacked his shet up.

And the guy stood still long enough for somebody to take a photo? Really? Not me. Nope, not going to happen. I do Safety for a living, and every time I see photos like this I cringe. But, I do keep looking.

lol, thats why I dont shoot the 28 inch arrows my grandpa makes for me (I have a 32 inch draw) I did that (just cut the skin) with a too short arrow.

ALSO, for you wood arrow shooters, Make sure you don't have grains "comming out" of the arrow, I shot a splinter from one inbetween my thumb and finger (I was resting the arrow on my hand) and my grandpa shot one through his thumb.

Thanks for posting this it was a great educational tool for my sons whom I showed this post to, they are always grabbing different arrows and letting them fly now they understand what I've been telling them for years. Looks painful to say the least, wonder how many stores he will own over this.
