Default What are the antlers like in the first week of August for caribou?

Are they close to done growing or pretty soft and have a ways to go. I know the 3rd week they are good to go, but never hunted them the first week.
    Thanks for the info.

Pretty much very "alive' to say, full of blood, 90% there but with soft , edible rounded tips on the antlers. Good snacks for the wary Hunter
back in the early 90's you coulda gotten a job rounding up Reindeer and dehorning them in early August..... Winter of '95-'96 they left with the Caribou....
