    Default Is he legal?

We had a debate in camp. Is he legal?

We were in a 4 brow tine, 50" area.

Clearly not anywhere near 50 and there is only 2 on the left and 3 on the right (our right/left) as far as brow tines. I am not sure why there was any debate??

    Not even close.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Depending on the unit- yes. 3 brow on his left.
We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed

Not even close to a BANG.

Shoot that guy and the trooper blotter report will read similar to the following...

    10/XX/11
    Location: GMUXXX
    Case Number: 11-XXXXX
    Type: Take Sub-legal Moose

Text: On 10/XX/11, xxxxxxxxx-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited dam_angel, age XX of Wisconsin for the taking of a sub-legal moose in the Xxxxxx Range. Dam_angel was given a Oct/Nov court arraignment date. The meat, horns/antlers, and cape of the sub-legal moose were seized by troopers.

    Therefore....No BANG.

I would have had a hard time pulling the trigger on that one back in the 36" days

Not that I am an expert but no, I was thinking 45"ish and I am being generous at that. Sounds like the others are in the same area.

Well, I agree with most of what has been said, but I would add that from those pics, I'd be trying to get within 50 or 60 yds to take a closer look at that left brow tine. Hard to tell from the pic without blowing it up, but maybe with a closer look you'd make a 4th brow...

Definantly wouldnt get an itchy finger from your pictures though!!!

Course not, first his antlers are growing straight up and he has only 3 brow tines. Unfortunately, Since we called him right to us and our days to hunt were coming to an end, I so wished that he would have had one more brow tine. He would not be 50 inches but he would have the legal requirement of 4 brow tines. Another day.

We called him straight in. He came to within about 150 yards and he hung around for quite a while.

Even with my 45x spotting scope at 150 yards, I couldn't find a 4th brow tine...
