Thread: Huge Kenai Rainbow

  1. #1

    Default Huge Kenai Rainbow

I was on facebook and a friend posted a pic from another friend's friend of the biggest rainbow I've ever seen. I'd post it here, but not sure if that is legal or not since it's not my picture. If you want to see it look up **************** on facebook and look at his wall posting. Since it's public, I guess this is legal... This is one huge rainbow....

Boyhowdy I'll say! It looks it prefers to hang on the left side of the river. Judging from the looks of the left corner of its jaw, Phish and Hippie have tied into that beauty a time or 2

Sweet! I wonder how many salmon eggs per day it takes to keep that guy happy?

Looking at the trees in the background it appears to be from a few weeks ago, hardly any color to them.
Nice hog....I bet he's been eating a few salmon smolt and eggs over the years.

From what I have heard, it just missed the 40" mark by less than half an inch. The girth on it was 23".

If that is accurate, the fish is well over 20 pounds. WOWZA!

Was the max plate missing from the other side as well?

I am thinking the 800 method would be closer.........looking at the fish, but I could be wrong, it is a 25 lb+ fish either way.

I believe the girth was 22 3/4" The most amazing trout I have seen. Most big fish you see like that are all dark and nasty. That is a great fish! A new goal for everyone! ha good luck but it is sure fun to try right.
