    Default Koyukuk Float

Planning a trip to Wiseman next August and was wondering if anyone has been on the Koyukuk Float trip through Coldfoot Camp.

Are you floating from Wiseman to Coldfoot or down to Bettles? It should be an enjoyable trip either way. All class 1 water and great scenery with some historic mining sites mixed in.

I believe it's from Wiseman to Coldfoot.

I want to do a float someplace in AK on our vacation and that one sounded low key, plus hopefully alot less people.?

From what you said, it sounds really nice. Thanks!

The Wiseman to Coldfoot portion can be extremely bony during low water years. Call the Interagency Visitor Center in Coldfoot to get an assessment before you go. FYI the trip from Coldfoot down to Bettles, or even Allakaket, or Hughes is probably more the "wilderness" trip you are looking for but they would require you to fly out of those villages.
