Default The bulls we didn't let walk

Hello again to all. Well I wanted to put up a couple photos of this bull moose. He was what we have been looking for for quite a while. We worked extremely hard to get into where this animal lived and suffered some mechanical breakdowns but in the end we got in and out in one piece.
This one was living 56 miles from the nearest road and yes we used fourwheelers and pac-rat trailers to access the country. Spent 9 days on the tundra in tents and came home with a fine load of meat.
First bull is 62 across. Palms are 54 inches right side 52 on the left.

This second bull was one that we'd seen a few times and decided he'd do fine. A little one but still a fine one with a good pile of meat.
    Killed with the 1967 model 94 .30-.30

    And away we go.

Yeah, any angle, any math formula, they are gonna clear 50 inches <GRIN>.
Fantastic critters. Looks like great planning, great hard work, great success.

Looks a lot like the country in an area I've been itching to try. That gives me some more motivation to make it happen one of these days... Good stuff, and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great time. Very nice trailer! As we start getting our toys we're interested in what worked and what didn't.

Every one knows only Pre 64 Winchesters are worth hunting with.

    Grizzlykiller,

You say it was 56 miles from the nearest road. That isn't really fair because your "roads" are really hundreds of miles from roads. Great bulls all around.

I don't know, Scott. The symmetry just isn't there.................and those long times with deep clefts don't do a thing for a B&C score...............HaHa!!
Heard a little about the hunt. Sounds like a tough one. I know you worked for those bulls. Good job.
This area is 50 plus miles from the nearest govt. maintained road. Thus the pack rat trailers.
    Didn't see any bears?
    I can't help being a lazy, dumb, weekend warrior.......I have a JOB!
    I have less friends now!!

Fantastic animals guys - for a cpl old "duffers" ya def earned them! Put in the sweat and the success will usually follow!
    Congrats!
Why the 30-30 anyway - just curious the motivation behind using that sweet old warhorse?
When asked what state I live in I say "The State of Confusion", better known as IL....
