    Default Ketchikan Goat

Son #2 called me last night and asked if we would babysit his dog because he got a call from his buddy, Casey wanting Josh to be a packer for a Ketchikan goat permit. I told him OK and he showed up this morning at 4:30. They only had to drive about 10 miles to the start of the trail. It took them only about 2 hours to get to the top of the mountain. They saw a fair amount of goat in the morning and settled on a nice big billy. Casey was shooting uphill at 250 yards and missed big time. They never got another shot at that goat. Later in the early afternoon he took this young billy. The horns were right at 9".

They got back to my house about 6:00 pm.

I don't have the area numbers with me. It isn't the same area you are going to hunt.

Looking good, and a rare good weather day to go along with it.

    Great looking September hair.

Pics can be deceiving but that terrain looks pretty doable for goat country...

Very nice. Maybe the tag gods will smile down upon me this next year and I'll get to hunt that area.

Talk about one short goat hunt! Congrats to the hunter and your son sounds like they worked their butts off for the day and got a nice billy.

Drew the DG006... Totally thrilled. I won't be down there until October, but I would rather a longer haired one anyway!
