Default My New Moose Roast Recipe

Fry up a pound of bacon, and eat the bacon for breakfast or make a BLT

Sear the Moose Roast (I doing 2 three pound roasts at at time) in Bacon Greese a few minutes on each side
Place Roast in Dutch Oven (I'm using a 9 quart)
Pour rest of Bacon Grease over the Moose Roast
Pour 1 1/2 cups semi sweet white wine over meat
Pour 1/4 cup Worchester Sauce over meat
Salt entire roast with Johnnys Seasoning
Follow up with sprinkling Montreal Steak Seasoning on entire roast
Pour 1 package of Lipton Onion Soup on top of meat
Peel 3 pounds of carrots and top the roast with carrots
Add 3-4 pounds of Washed Red Potatoes

Put Dutch Oven Lid on and bake in oven at 325 for 3 hours

Flake Moose Roast into its own sauce and serve.

I've made it 3 times now and my sons friends have started to bring me moose roasts to make for them as they gather at my house for lunch during school lunch break.

looks like a yummy recipe, but no real onions? They add moisture to the mix, head and above the Lipton Onion mix.

    Just an idea.

Thanks for posting your recipe; we need more of them around here.

    Thanks,

Several of my friends have tried it as well, and passed on the compliments. Hope you get to go home soon. Merry Christmas!

I agree. Also, replacing the prepackaged seasonings with fresh items will add a significant depth of flavor and help decrease the sodium and preservatives.

I like the bacon grease idea. I bet duck fat would be awesome also.
