    Default kodiak island guides

looking for info , experiences, or opinions on these kodiak island brown bear guides. am planning a bear hunt, have searched till i'm bleary eyed, thought this might be a place to look. they are scott mileur, dennis harms, paul chervenak, and sam rohrer. been to all the websights. talked to paul and dennis. waiting to hear from sam and scott. searched the archives of several websites. narrowed it to these guys because of no draws on kodiak. would consider info on phil shoemaker also if you have it. have been advised to go with someone who has exclusive guide access to a refuge or park to limit competition. new member. but been lurking for over a year. thanks.

Scott Mileur, no questions asked. Forget the others, hunt Red Lake (Akalura, Olga), you won't regret it.

If I was hiring a guide, it would be Jake Jefferson, known here as BRWNBR. But I just like the kinda guy he is.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Scott Mileur has a great area and got his start with Pinnell and Talifson. Red Lake is a solid area fall or spring.

Looks like you have a solid list of names to go from and others have stated Jake Jefferson as well so I would add him to your list.

I have hunted in the same area as Paul and can say he has a great area but it can easily fill up if some resident hunters have the same plan as he does.

    Good luck!
