Default How to flesh a bear hide in the field

I'm going on my first bear hunt. We won't have a guide (my brother lives in Alaska).

Can you recommed a good source to learn how to flesh a bear in field? I am planning on a bear fur blanket without the head or feet. So I don't have to worry about splitting lips and ears.

having worked the fall season in a taxidermy shop for the last 3 years with the fleshing of bears being my main skill, I can honestly say the #1 tool to have with you for fleshing is an ulu....also bring a good sharpening steel.....find a rock or leaning log, lay the hide across it with the head down, start at the tail and start scraping your way down the hide, moving the hide back and forth as needed.....key tip~ it makes it much easier with a careful, detailed skinning job....
