I had one for a while, and the last I heard it was still working (I sold the boat). It was very small and compact, which I liked on the smaller boat. It's a very light-duty puller, though. One pot per string is all it really had the muscle for.

Thanks Dan, I got off the phone today with ACE Line Hauler and they now own the Robinson brand and they told me if I ever need any parts they have them in stock.

I asked them why they discontinued this puller as it is a nice puller fits right on a Scotty downrigger mount. The response was....

It was a very good unit and still is, as for why it was discontinued your guess is as good as mine.

My info is that the original producer was something of a flaky character.

I know he pissed a lot of people off here in BC because he didn't stand behind his product/wouldn't even answer the phone after a while.

I had a Robinson for a couple years until I sold the boat, worked great just a little slower than an ACE and limited to a single pot. Sure beats doing by hand. I kept a spare rubber pulley on board just incase the line ran free an put a groove in the pulley, if this happens than there is not enough friction on the line to pull up the pot. I never had to use the spare.

    No.

I was in the retail end of the fishing tackle business when he went under and heard a lot of grief from people who bought his product and were then ignored.
