    Default runt duck

    so this morning were doing the normal smokin a cigar 10 minutes before shooting time and i see this duck swimming in. as it hits time to shoot me and my buddy jump up and try to scare this duck outta the decoys and shoot it but it just wont fly away so naturally i water blast it. found out why it could not fly.....
    I will never be a "Prostaffer" its not that I am not good enough
    but its because I refuse to pimp products for free.

    I've shot a lot of Ruddy's down here in AZ that have wings like that

    both wings looked the same it was just s really screwed up duck. opened up the skin to look for some meat but there was non what so ever on the breasts.....waste of a 50 cent shot gun shell

    Our dogs pick up several of these each year jump shooting. These are usually adult birds that for some reason, have molted late. Several years ago, we picked up a female pintail with a band that had wings like this. She was at least seven years old.

    ya idk it was pretty werid lookin. i never seen something like it b4. i figured it was born on the lake and just never grew the feathers to be able to fly.

    Its probably from a late clutch or a second clutch. Sometimes a hen will start a second clutch of eggs if her first clutch gets killed off. Most young that do not have their flight feathers will have little meat on them.

    I saw a family of swans walking along the highway yesterday with siglets that looked like they were a month behind the growth curve. It's global warming, and I hear it is caused by all the hot air from politicians in California as well as Al Gore or... something like that. Of course I could be wrong....

    Agreed, looks like a duck that hasn't fully gotten it's flight feathers yet. Was that a scaup?

    i belive it was either a bluebill or a female ringer. nice thing about the regs up here you can shoot 8 of what you want around this area as long as they are not sea ducks. if i was in mn i woulda had to quit early. like 80% sure it was a bill though tough to tell with a runt duck
