Default Russian river saturday/ Possibly chuck sighting?

Fished the russian today for a bit trying to target some silvers and bows. It was choked with reds and it was a serious hassle to try and fish around them. It was fun hooking and releasing them for the first hour or two then it got old. Saw a few silvers caught when you could get a fly past the reds. It was pretty much impossible to tempt the bows with the artificial stuff cause they were hanging off the back of the salmon like parasites waiting for em to drop. Dropped a few beads and flesh flies in front of em but they just swam around em. Saw several lunkers cruising behind the salmon and would have loved to hook one but oh well still had fun.

Couple pics from today. Think I saw chuck out there with his crazy doo on.

I knew it had to be. He donned the wig right when he floated past and I had to pull the camera quick. Good thing he wasnt a bear and I was fighting for my gun because he got about 400 feet down river before I could get the camera out and get a pic.

Yeah the banks are full of em. You can actually watch some of the ones in the stream go belly up. They'll be swimming around then stop and just start floating down stream.

I was at the Russian on Saturday as well. Couldn't believe that amount of eggs in the water. The reds were EVERYWHERE. Fishing was slow for bows but did manage a few nice bows and a dolly. Here are a few pics

I bow to the master! I couldnt pull it off but I only spent about 4-5 hrs including my lunch and gear breaks. I spent some time on the middle Kenai today searching for some trout and dollies. Hooked into one of each both very small. Then on the last dift of the day hooked a very crusty king. It put up a good fight and it was fun to catch even though it was even uglier than the reds cruising the russian right now.

Those pics dont work! Trust me I was avoiding the red ones the best I could but there were so many and it seems they would snap at anything that go close. The only reason for the pic I the fish looks cool. Was the first one Ive caught like that.

LMAO! O FACE! Nice fish guys, would've stopped by but the campground was full. Ended up staying at Cooper Creek.

    Fish On!
You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

I'll be at the campground at 2300, hopefully sooner if I can schmooze the gate agents in Portland. I hope to meet you Cox!
