Post First Bird for 1 year old lab

Parker got his first hunted duck today. I didn't make it easy on him, bird hit the water about 45 yards out. When I released Parker to go get him the duck started swimming away, turns out I winged him. By the time Parker reached him he was 55+ yards out and it took nearly 5 mins for Parker to be able to corral and grab the bird. Turns out I've got one hell of a duck dog, thank you FRC.

Congrats....you will always remember that one...great dogs only live for a short time...enjoy every moment in the marsh..both good and bad times.

And God said, let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Hope he got to ride home in the cab and not in the back of the truck. Bud

Thank you duckhunter and bud, and yes the passenger seat belongs to him. He gives the wife dirty looks when she forces him into the back seat.

Such a beautiful thing to watch a dog work - esp. the first time!
