    Default Mapping

How do i figure out the Plat, lot, block, and tract numbers? If I come to a location and want to know if it is claimed and no noticeable markers. How do I find out if its claimed? What if I have lat and long coordinates of the general area?

    Default Alaska Mapper

You can use the Alaska Mapper website. Or go down to BLM in the Federal Building and they have some nice people who can help you look up stuff on Federal Land.

And...if it is state land, you can go down to the DNR public room where they have staff that can assist you. Also, it is well to remember that Alaska Mapper is not "gospel"....some claim locations on the Mapper have been observed to be incorrectly displayed...the legal location of a claim is always the actual corner posts on the ground...
