I have sat on a gob of baited stands in Canada and I would say easily 90 - 95% of the bears I shot, filmed and watched other hunters shoot, all knew we were sitting in stands watching them. Sat in about every camo pattern there is and sometimes just blue jeans and something dull in color - can't say it ever made any difference.
What seemed to matter most was A movement - B noise...
Never did any spot and stalk but with a rifle I don't think I would be very concerned with whatever pattern you chose as long as its a quiet material.... Good Luck.

Can't say for sure, but since I've only seen "black" bears I suppose that color phased bears must have pretty good camo around here...

I have had very good luck stalking Black Bear wearing all black. With that said, it could also be a good way to get mistaken for said bears.

I would say that your scent matters more than anything. Bears can't really see any better than a human (from what I've read). Baiting is kind of a separate thing due to cover scents, bait, etc. If your stalking a black bear, I would focus on the wind direction primarily.

Suggest you make your own Camo using Hormel Bacon.....

I took my last two bears wearing pair of old faded Levi's and a plaid wool shirt. Of course it may have been the black Stormy Kromer and suspenders that sealed the deal. I think as others have said you should watch the wind and stay low, then it probably won't matter much what color you wear.

One thing's for sure, a bear's nose is connected directly to his feet. It's kind of amazing, sniff - bang - full tilt boogie running! Furball flying! It's amazing what they run through when they do that.
