    Default Part needed

Can anyone help me with a needed part for an old JC Higgins model 20 12 gauge shotgun? This is the same model as the High Standard model 200. I need the cartridge cutoff lever assembly, the shorter of the two. I have tried the internet and not found anyone who can supply this part (Widners, Gun Parts, etc) Surely someone has a junker or a parts box with one of these in it? Any leads will be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

Are you looking for the left hand cartridge stop?

Yes, that is how it is described, although it sits on the right side of the receiver if one holds the gun in a normal fashion pointing forward. It is the smaller of the two, with a spring on the side and a pin to hold it in place. I have the pin (screw) and the spring. Sure hope you have one available!
P.S. I have tried the usual suspects on the internet and they either dont have it in stock or just dont carry it in their inventory. Of course there all many other sources out there that I am unaware of...hence the call for help! Besides, I would always avoid mail order if possible and with all the resources we have in Alaska I have my hopes to find one locally. Thanks, and let me know if you have one.

As soon as I can find the time I'll root through my pile of parts and see if I have one. I'm hopeful at this point. It'll probably be a couple days. This time of year is crazy for the gun guys in the business.....

Hi guys, just found a great resource for parts identification just in case some of you are not familiar with it. Goes as follows: www.stevespages.com. Go to "my pages", then to "firearms", then to "Owner's manuals (pdf files, adobe required) Pluse lots more on this site. Hope y'all enjoy it.

Thanks Gunbugs for helping me out with that part I need. I'll be checking off and on next week, no real hurry.

Thanks to all who replied and tried to help. I did in fact get a new part from Numrich after getting an up-to-date inventory check from them. The gun is back in good firing order.
