I have seen caribou, marmot, black bears, grizzly bears, moose and granola dudes but never a sheep or goat.

Pretty much sums up my experience too. I would add wolves, yotes, grouse, ptarmigan and ermin though.

I saw my first sheep there two years ago on the Willow side of the pass. Just one, and too far without spotting scope to determine sex.

I've seen a few sheep back past the mines, but don't think there are many.

As for goats, there are small pockets of goats up to Cantwell. I can't figure out how to copy and paste out of a PDF, but page 142 of this ADF&G Management report describes Mountain goat distribution in Units 13D and 14.

...and it's only a thousand feet up and a one mile walk!!! Unbelievable that no one hunts those sheep!

What about historically before the mines, easy access, etc? I always wondered.
