    Default Grizzly Bear Coloring

We saw this guy last week just south of Coldfoot while we were up hunting Caribou. Strange coloring on him. Looks almost like a black bear face on a grizzly body. Anybody seen this before?

Cool photo, but that looks like a odd colored Black bear to me. Either way a cool pic for sure.

It's hard for me to tell the size, not much close to him to reference to. I'd agree with Steve in that it looks like an odd colored black bear.

Did you watch him for long? With the sun reflecting off a light colored coat, he may be darker than he appears in the picture. Light brown, not blond.

Anyhow you slice it though, it is a cool photo.

That's a black bear, for sure. Cool looking one, too! The face is a giveaway and the lack of a hump.

My first thought was a cinnamon colored black, but the blond hair never changed. It walked around a while, then caught our scent and loped off to our left. Color didn't change. Pretty unique. Glad we took a photo.............Face was definitely like a black.

Gotta say that you guys do know your bears. Yep, it's a blackie. Any of you ever see a glacier bear? One of the blue ones?
