Does anybody know anything about the wildlife near prospect creek, up on the Dalton highway? Also, anybody know who owns the land/airstrip?
I spent a week working up there in may didn't see anything living. There is supposed to be lots of black bears and it looked like really good moose country but I wasn't able to explore any. Working at the pump station.
The state leases the airstrip out and it is designated for public use. Surrounding country is general state land. If you're planning a moose hunt around there, you need the DM922 permit within the 5-mile boundary. Otherwise, there's typically nothing for caribou this time of year near there.
