    Default Ernie the muskox killing bear

    DSC01680.jpgWell heres Ernie. He was collared and the bios flew in the next day and told me his story. He was about 15 and had killed many muskox on the north side of the brooks. He was on the top ten most wanted in there minds..DSC01681.jpg[IMG][/

    beautiful bear! it's great to see some pics that aren't of sheep very nice looking coat on ol' earnie there. im sure the ox are very happy. nice work

    Wasnt much neck rub at all they had just put a new collar on him this year so wasnt bad.

    That's good, sure looks like he has a nice coat.

    For August first it was in great shape for sure Im getting the skull done and gonna get a Griz coat made outta the hide since I already have a nine footer in rug mode.

    Good call!! Seen a Grizz coat done just recently, looked good. I'm going with a vest, and bear claw necklace. Way to take one of the educated out of the pool!

    good job. nice bear. what did he measure out at? My friend JR arrowed one from that 10 most wanted list too this spring 7.5'. said the bears sides were bruised up bad from failed attemps at muskox.*

    Im guessing he was right at 7 feet. I shot another bear that was 15 yo as well and he went just over 9 foot a few years ago near Talkeetna. Ernie had some wicked nice claws on him as well.

    If I recall right, they canceld musk ox hunting soon after the bear on you tube killed an entire herd, which wasn't his first.
    I saw a BP guys video and it was spooky. He didn't stop to eat, just run at the herd and chasing them down, kill one and chase after the next one. When he was done he wandered off across the tundra.
    I swear I would have shot the furry sumb...

    Nice job on taking him, maybe we can chase the long beards again someday.
