2007 GCI Open North American almost over
The GCI Open North American sled dog race takes place in Fairbanks each year, for a period of three days of racing. This is a very old race, and it's sort of an international event, since mushers from around the world participate in this event. Most of the dogs are not the typical sled dogs, but bred for speed (sprint dogs). The race begins Friday, and ends Sunday. The trail is 20 miles long Friday and Saturday, and 27 miles long on the last day of the race.
