I agree the Federal helps the ducks, think the state stamp money just goes into the general fund. Bud

please show me what the state does for ducks thats worth 5$ X the number of hunters. Its a nice thought tho. I can only magin how good the hunting would be if that money went toward improving duck habitat.

Actually it does not. As part of the migratory bird act the states had to set up a tax specific for habitat improvement funds. If you were to search out waterfowl or migratory bird treaty act within the state regulations you will find few regulations on hunting, but lots of regulations on how to account for, manage, spend, and report funds related to the duck stamp tax revenue. It can only go to habitat work. What is irritating about it is that Creamer's Field gets lots of the funding since it is an in town refuge next to the northern district office with lots of birders watching birds.

I got my stamp, but am still looking for the waterfowl regulation booklet they usually have out about this time, can't find it anyplace. From what I recall, I usually don't see it until the day or 2 prior to the season, but have been looking. I know its all on the internet, but I like a black and white copy to carry around. Bud
