That thread was deleted due to my foul mouth. I substituted a couple of vowels when it was not appropriate and got chastized for it.

They ended up alright but pressed charges for reckless endangerment. The coasties and The City of Kenai got involved is what I was told. Still waiting on more info though. Will update when I learn more. The processor was Inlet processors, this is from the guy that was operating the boat. More 411 when I get more, again. Just best to stay clear of those guys. I get nasty e-mails every year from people that work there about dipnetters in general and their comments are not very pretty.
If a dipnetter dips a fish and there is no one around to see/hear it, Did he really dip?

I have to agree fullbush many posts are edited due to names being thrown out on this forum with FIRST hand experience, This is second hand information with a name being placed,,.. an edit is only right if rules are to be equally distributed.

FYI - The mods don't ready every post on here. They don't have some automatic function that tells them when a name is said that is not appropriate, they rely on people like you and I "reporting" the post if we feel there is something inappropriate. So, if you think it is against the rules, report it and they will evaluate it and act if necessary.

And Fullbush, by quoting the name you should know that means Whop couldn't edit it if he wanted.
Only recourse is to delete your post (unless you or a Mod edit it to remove the quote.)

Here's my take on this. They tied up to a working commercial Privately owned dock during the peak season for use of that dock. After being granted several minutes and using that time up they then tied up to a private mooring buoy. They had a working kicker motor and were given a few minutes time to assess their problems. They elected to work on their motor beyond the timeframe given them from the docks owner/manager even though they had a working kicker motor.
Should he have verbally harrassed them? IMHO no he should have polietly requested they leave said private property.
Should he have sent his skiff and crew with instructions( according to the previously deleted thread) to cut their line off of the buoy? IMHO no the crew should have polietly requested they move.
I don't know enough about this case to make an informed decision.
For all we know there was a boat inbound for this dock possibly being the legal occupant of said mooring buoy as well. I don't know wether this is what happened or not. I do know some of the smaller commercial boats have to offload more than once per day during a big opener and can return anytime day or night to do so.
I have found that polietly asking first to use private property especially in an emergency such as this always results in polite permission.
Being they had a working kicker motor I can see the dock owner/manager only giving them a short time to work on their problems.
Had they not had a working kicker I could see giving them more time.
Just because there is a mooring buoy handy doesn't give you permission to use it nor is it an excuse not to carry an anchor and rode with plenty of scope aboard. I have seen skiffs on the Kasilof lose power and pitching an anchor allowed them plenty of time to be rescued.
Being they had a working kicker motor how much time should a person in their situation be allowed to work on their main motor?
Doesn't the city dock charge anyone taking more than 15 minutes to launch/retrieve their boats double the normal fee?
Yet some say a Privatly owned commercial dock during the peak of their season should not hold people to the same standard?

btw I can drop my kicker and be under way in less than 2 minutes sometimes less than 1 minute.

My bad for naming the processor, I was not thinking when I replied. That said, I thought I was just answering a question and didn't think when I replied. I also cannot delete a post since it was copied and posted below mine, Mutt is right on that. Just have to wait for the mods. Man... Am I sure glad we have the internet police watching, wouldn't know what to do w/o them, LOL

So when I gave you reputation points the other day for providing pertinent facts instead of your usual sniveling that white guys in rabbit creek need subsistence, you ignored it? I'll bring you a box of kleenex to the BOF meeting this year, we're on deck this cycle. Oh and you can bet subsistence dipping will get shot down again, the valley guides won't be on the board to help you get your welfare this time.

Hellz yeah I want my points back! You get enough freebies and perks w/ the proceeds you rake in from other dip netters that you recruit w/ your socialist agenda.

We don't let you catch a thing that would be up to the state. If I had it my way the only thing you'd catch is the southbound back to Kansas. They know all about government dole outs there.
