    Default Lake Trout Fishing

I'm looking for some tips on Lake Trout. I know that they are abundant in most of the lakes in Alaska. Interested to see what people have been catching them with.

Bad time of year, wait another few weeks or until next spring would be best. Be deep as you can be, look for a mark off the bottom, and troll some meat on the bottom (whatever 4-6' inch bait you can get your hands on). Otherwise flashy spoons and crankbaits run on lead or off downriggers.

I have had good success trolling a Kwik Fish. Rock shelves are good places to troll along.

Same here. Most of the ones I pulled were late in the season and small but I hooked up about 15 last time with a kwik fish.
Makin fur fins and feathers fly.

If you're shore fishing, I've found krocodile spoons work really well.

caught a few this year, if you could drop a big streamer in front of them without spooking them, they'd just nail it
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
