    Default Sheep hunting...Afghanistan style!!

So it is one day until all of you get to begin squeezing the trigger on some magnificent dall sheep rams. I am SOOOO jealous.. so I figured I would get out and do some sheep hunting of my own. Of course I am pretty sure the regs in Alaska frown upon the use of a CH47 and a M240 machine gun but what the hell, gotta use what I have at my disposal. LOL

OK OK, I didn't actually see any sheep, let alone shoot one this way. I was behing the camera. Thought I would share the pic though. Good times in the sunshine.

Best of luck to all of you and will see you in the mountains next season.

We need to go further north brother, i hear there are some Marco Polo up there. We do have some hyena's and coyote running around our trash pit though.

Good thing there is no same day airborn rules over there! Seeing casings pour out of one of those bad boys sure is a special treat!

I am home for a change and will be taking a different sort of air transport tomorrow into the Brooks to make up for eating my DCUA tag last year 27 hours till sheep season licks off for me!

    Jason,
Good hunting to you as well. Stay safe, shoot first and hurry home.

I think hunting sheep from a chopper would be cool. Can you talk the CO into doing a "morale" trip once in a while? Plus the good eating the guys would have!!

I remember years ago the CH-46 guys would pick off a spanish goat off of San Clemente Island off of So. California for a barbeque. Not sure what they were shooting, maybe M-14s. As always, someone squealed and that put an end to that! Hope you find something besides MREs to eat over there.

    Cool.

Hope you get back soon, thats gotta be some adventure, and more here waiting for ya.

My dad was a crew chief on a Ch-47 in Viet Nam for a couple tours, 101st Abn D, in headquarters supply "Flying Pachaderms" with a rearing elephant on the tail rotor housing..... serving in the Hue, Danang (sp?) area and the firebases there, if I remember right.
