    Default Cabela's Guarantee

I was just surfing the Cabela's web page and noticed they have changed their guarantee to a 90 day guarantee. I've posted the link below. I've always used Cabela's because they stand behind everything, I will likely continue to use them because of past experiences. Has anyone had to return something and had Cabela's tell them it was outside of their return policy dates?

I called to return a tent i was not satisfied with. I bought it over 4 months ago. They sent me a return form to fill out, told me to send my tent in to them with this form and they would have a returns specialist take a look at it and determine what to do at that point. She made it sound like it would not be an issue and that i would be given store credit for the purchase price.

I wouldn't be concerned about Cabela's customer service.

Kotz, 2004, I use one of their camp kettles (coffee pot) and the percolator cap (plastic) melts on a float trip. I call and let them know, asking if I can buy a replacement cap or two, they mail me a cap to Kotz for free and I had it in 3 days. Which is amazing considering normal shipping time to Kotz.

Several years later, I have a travel 3 piece spinning rod break. They don't even make the same rod so they give me the price I paid for the rod as credit towards a brand new rod of my choosing.

Had a pair of their waders that were at least 3-4 yrs old and the crotch ripped out.didnt figure they would do squat, but i took them to the st louis store and they prorated them and I got a discount for that much on the "trade in" for a new pair. While not a total refund it was a lot more than most places would of done.top notch customer service in my opinion.

3-4 years, and you thought "taking them back" was an option?!?!?!?!?!?! This is why they changed their policy!! They tried to be customer friendly, but it gets taken advantage of.

I had a long interactive chat with customer service yesterday about a product that failed after an hour of use. I had purchased it about 6 months in advance and was informed that I needed to deal with the manufacturer. Fortunately, it is a reputable manufacturer who will warrenty the item, but Cabelas = Nope.

Full transcript of that conversation is available upon request.

I called them today about my Cabelas XPG tent. I used it a couple weekends, and last weekend didnt have a tarp to lay under it (forgot one). It had 4-5 little holes in the floor, so I called and asked what could be done. They said since it was under 90 days, I could send it back (even though it was my fault for not putting anything under the tent.

Cabelas has always been awesome customer service. A couple winters ago I bought a set of cold weather pants and jacket. They sent me the pants, but then sent me a nice 4 layer parka I didnt order (it was about twice as much as I paid for the original item i wanted). I called them and said they forgot my other jacket that i ordered, and instead sent me this more expensive item. She told me to keep the jacket they sent me, and express mailed my other one. I was blown away!
