Default Where in Anchorage can you buy nautical charts?

Pretty simple question, but I'm not sure where to go. It's been a long time since I've gotten one and all of the stores we used to use for that are gone.

    West Marine, maybe?

They have them on line free here: http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineVie...werTable.shtml

I have had mixed results printing them but better than nothing.

Here's another pretty cool "freebie" of NOAA "Booklet" charts. The charts are cut down to standard printer paper size so you can put in a binder if you have a favorite area you want to occasionally review without rolling out a full-size chart.

The link will work, the software abbreviates the long addresses automatically.

I just found this site myself and am in the process of putting together a notebook of my favorite charts. Putting them in page protectors will keep 'em dry and a small notebook is a lot easier to stow than a 3'x4' laminated chart!

As for the original post.... The store Power Drifter mentioned is where I get mine. They are around $20 and they have every imaginable chart for AK. It's located on the APU campus on the right hand side as you pull in. They have a lot of topo maps too.

That's cool...I may just do the print-your-own version. Save me a little bit of money and yeah, it's a more convenient size for sure.

I was at Marita and asked if they had charts. They did, but they wanted $40 for one. Crazy. I checked with Eagle Enterprises, and they are $19.95 there. Needless to say, I didn't buy one from Marita....

I think they are $14 at West Marine. They don't have a large selection though.

Eagle Enterprises is your best choice I believe. They have just about all of them.
