    Default Old log cabin help

Anyone know of someone in the Anchorage or Valley area that is an expert with log cabins, and or how to fix an old log cabin?

A friend has a cabin that needs some top logs replaced, and one of them is the top log on one side. The way it is with the windows in one corner, he is afraid if we put up some new logs and it isn't done right, the corner could collapse. The cabin is very sentimental.

I too have an old log cabin but the bottom logs are starting to rot out. I need some advise on how to lift up one side and pull out the old log while trying to put new wood in. And it is a remote site too. Supercub in only.

I helped some friends move a cabin a few feet and add logs to the bottom. Jacks, lots of boards, chain saws, scrap wood from blocking. That should about do it....
