Default Boating on the copper river?

I have this Gary King 17 foot inflatable with a 40 hp merc with a prop. Could I or should I use it to dipnet on the copper river? I have seen inflatable there but they were without a motor just passing through. Would the silt stop up the water pump or the prop be a hindrence due to depth or ect.
Getting tired of paying to use Hems charter. Would like to use what I have, but dont want to die!
    Any comments?

It will work fine, I have seen many people dip from a inflatable, mostly above the bridge with a prop.
Below the bridge could be dicey until you get past the mouth of the Chitina. Water reading skills and high water would help some.

I second. Above the bridge is no problem with prop, but... Below is braided and well SHALLOW until the canyon. I have run it with a jet and had no problems. Friends of mine floated in my 18' cat from Chitina to Cordova (the quote was "duck easy").
