Default Whittier boat ramp with minus tide?

Is the Whittier launch ramp usable with low (minus) tides?

Planning to launch tomorrow morning, but I see that it's about a -2 foot tide right about when I'd be getting there. I'm not launching a hugh boat or anything. Do-able?

It is probably doable to launch a smallish boat without any problems. No way would I retrieve.

nothing like having your trailer axle drop off the end of the ramp

Went yesterday morning and launched at just about low, (a -2, according to the book). No problem with the ramp...but dock space was the limiting factor (especially for a saturday morning) with very little dock still floating and only room for about 3 boats tied at a time on each dock.

The old west ramp was a disaster at a low tide, but it sounds like the new one is improved. Thanks for the feedback on your experience with it.

Not sure about everyone else but i always launch and then motor over to the shoreside station and pick up my driver to get away from the dock and do the same thing when i come back i drop off at shoreside its much closer to the parking and then i don't have to wait as long at the launch there is to many bone heads that don't have a clue what they are doing there fun to watch but when trying to make a tunnel its annoying... I don't mind posting this i hope all the members would do the same thing the non-members can have the dock at the launch..
