Default Any Deer on the Kenai

Just wondering if there are any deer to hunt on the Kenai Peninsula or if they are confined to the southeast and the islands?

if there is one on the kenai it's doing a good job hiding. Your best bet is the islands or SE..

Seward use to have a few but they disappeared

I saw one, one morning, on top of the little hill @ mile 7 coming out of Seward, must have been a year ago or so. Surprised me as that was not what I was expecting to see.
As far as your question there is no season open for the little buggers on the Kenai Pen. PWS is your closest bet. How is all the snow in the SE effecting them???

    Thumbs down

To answer the last reply about how the deer are doing in Southeast... Here on Baranof Island we have about two ft of snow on the ground and it is still coming down. I know that up north on Chichagof Island they have quite a bit more snow. It is mid March and we have nothing but snow in the forecast..Doesn't look too good for the deer.

Deer, yes. There have been sightings.

Deer to hunt, no. Very small population and may be transient. No season in the regs either.
