That time of year again to start the Sweetheart Creek (SE) fish report. I'm heading down there mid-week to hopefully avoid the net-clogging glut of pinks I got last year in August. Latest report I heard from this last Saturday was that it was still pretty early for sockeye and they may be a bit late compared to normal. Apparently there were at least seven groups down there that day, mainly cast-netting, and they were not getting a lot of fish. One guy at the top pool was getting fish fairly frequently, but the pinks were already in the first pool. A sow and two cubs were patrolling the flats and were looking rather hungry.

Anyone else have any current updates?
