Had some friends in whittier go out on a charter. 4 people bought the whole boat for 1200$. When they got there the boat was swapped due to some mechanical issues and the guide had 2 more paying clients on board. No salmon rods on the boat. They caught 1 yelloweye, a couple rockfish, and one halibut (one of the 'other' party caught it - 10 pounder).

If you want to know who it was PM me.

The good: my illustrator brought in a 165 pounder the last day of our Kodiak fishery in June.

The bad: I had gentley whispered in my captain's ear that if he brought my friend to anything above a hundred pounds I would skin him a hundred bucks; I sure felt safe, it was the final hour of the fishery.

The reality: You're in Alaska. "Expect surpises, and it is what it is..."
