    Default Valdez Fishing Charter

I'm heading to Valdez in a couple weeks and need to book a fishing charter. Does anyone have suggestions on who to use, or stay away from?

Not much choice at this late time in the game. Call a fish processor down thewre and see if they can hook you up with someone that has an empty seat.

Try Fish Central, they book for several boats. I don't see why you couldn't find someone. Phone: 907-835-5002 Toll free: 1-888-835-5002

You can also stop in at Eagle's Rest park. Jeff and Laura have found some "next" morning charters for me in the past. Other than that, I can't help- I now set-up my halibut charter w/ Dennis in January of each year. We go with same person, about the same time every year. And I get great service. This last one, he and his deckhand bent over backwards to help us out. We had two "injured" fisherpersons, and needed to stay with small fish. The average halibut we kept was 25-30 lbs. But, I did catch a good'un on a jig- 150 lbs.

Check the web site for the Otter Dodger and see what his calendar looks like, he provides very good service.

PM me about a recent trip there if you don't have a charter lined up yet.

Are they still going out of Valdez in September or does town shut down by then?

One that won't get my $ anymore is Swiftys. If you want details please PM me.

Orion, Otter Dodger, No Excuses or any of the boats/captains that are in the money at the Derby will do good, but they usually book early.

Valdez is pretty quiet after labor day.
