    Default Where to observe dipnetting?

My wife and I are new to Alaska, we just got up here 2 weeks ago from the Oregon Coast. I really want to watch some people dipnet and learn so next year I will be ready!! Normally I would be out chasing fish with my rod and reel but I stabbed my pocket knife into my hand and cut some tendons the day before we left so no fishing for 6 more weeks for me. Anyhow, any info is appreciated!! Thanks

The bluff on the north side of the river has a city park where you can see both beaches.Take good binos.Enjoy the show too...

A good place to watch the boats dipping is from the dock at Kenai Landing. It is located off of Cannery Road on the south side of the Kenai River.

Just head down to the beach at the mouth, you'll get to talk to people and learn a bunch of things you would never see from a far off with binoculars. It's a good atmosphere too, especially when the fish are boiling
