Careful! with 'Red Eye Peep' by ephunting
Had the string on my Reezen wearing thin, so I decided to switch peeps to a newer two-way split with the front-end cut in a concave, more open design.
I noticed that my string began to fray where the peep was tied in and chalked it up to that string being too frail to start with.
Put on a new string, a Zebra-twist, new original equipment from Mathews.
Was in the process of breaking in the new string and around shot number 125 it flat out CUT my string between my tie-in servings.
The grooves on this peep are just ToO SHARP and gnawed my string horribly!
Now waiting for a NEW new string to arrive and pretty upset about it.
Hope you didn't get hurt! Can you salvage the Red Eye to reuse, maybe file the grooves a bit? Doesn't sound like a good design if they are all like that. I believe I would be calling EP hunting and see what they say.
Yeah thats been a common issue with EP Redeye peeps. Supposedly they "fixed" the problem but you see these same threads on archerytalk pop up very often. If you get ahold of them they are supposed to pay you for a new string, if it was one of they're defective ones(which it seems most are). I had one on one of my bows, but as soon as I installed custom strings I tossed it for a G5 meta peep. Would hate to ruin my brand new custom strings.
