Does anyone catch halibut near kalgin island this time of year? If so, which side of the island.

My Dad fishes out of Deep Creek quite a bit and one his old "secret" holes was on the South end of the Island by the navigation buoy. Used to pick up some decent fish there. Last time I was out there with him we got lots of fish but not many halibut, ie skates and cod, but that can be said for just about anywhere in the inlet these days. I would give it a try if I was going to be in the area. Target 150 ft of water South of the buoy and let us know what you find.
