    Default What's running in PWS

I will be no more than 50 miles off in Prince William Sound from Whittier. What kind of fish are running during July 6-12? How deep approximately? Any other info or tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Might still be a couple reds left in Main bay and a few silvers at the mouth.

You might be able to get some early silvers. I have done really well on silvers at the north end of Culross Island on July 17th, though the run is only starting then. Pinks will also be schooling around points at this time, and there should be chums as well. All of these can be caught by casting spoons towards visible schools or by trolling or mooching down to 50' or so. There will also be the regular smattering of bottom fish (halibut, rockfish, skates, etc.) but finding a good spot for these can be tricky in the Sound due to the crazy depths. Best of luck to you.

reds hit coghill and main bay in honest ~25 June, In Eshamay they peak in mid august. P.S. Avoid monday and fridays as they are gillnet openers and negociating that circus is pretty difficult

Between crafton and the mainland is called fish alley for a reason, but be super careful the rocks sneak up on you VERY FAST there
