Thread: russian river falls question

    Default russian river falls question

How close are you allowed to get to the falls when fishing for rainbows? Are you allowed to go right below the falls or is there a certain distance you must be in order to not bother the reds... thanks

You may fish up to the base of the falls for bows. Check the regs. They state the river is closed from that marker on up to all salmon fishing. Rainbows are still legal.

You'll see the Dollies and rainbows hovering just behind a salmon - waiting for it to squirt out an egg. It's pretty cool to watch, even if you're not fishing. Might keep an eye out over your shoulder though. It goes without saying that more than a few brown furries live in those woods.
