    Default Chistochina Moose Hunt DM334

Well, my wife drew an any bull tag for area DM334. I have been my research and it looks like it may be a real doozy getting in there. I did pick up on the 19 mile long mud bog, the difficulty in crossing over from the Paxson side and the quicksand to be found along the river beds. One thing that was mentioned was the native land bordering the west side of this area, but I haven't found their land on any maps I have. We are heading up to Chistochina next weekend to do some serious recon and to investigate the few trails we have heard of along the Tok cutoff rd. We are running Grizzly 700's with winches and good tires, one pulling a pack rat trailer.

We would appreciate any advice or hints that would help us in this adventure. I usually hunt the lower end of unit 13, so this is my first time in the area. Thanks, Buck.

There are several 17b easements from chistochina to the north. Most are difficult riding to say the least and you must ride several miles in before you can hunt. Some nice looking country once you get out of native land. There is a hard to see blm trail as well. You may have trouble with your trailer on all the trails in the area where I explored.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-----WOW-----what a ride!
