    Default Chart question

I bought a couple of charts that do not show miles. What is the conversion factor of minutes to miles?

It make a lot of difference to the longitude and lattitude of the chart you are looking at.

One minute of latitude is equal to one nautical mile. However, this does not work for longitude minutes as they get closer together the furter from the equator you get since they converge at the poles.

Thanks, I've got it. One nautical mile is equal to 1.15 statute mile.
