    Default SAKO 7mm STW

Hi I'm trying to help a co-worker sell his SAKO 7mm STW, its a model 995 with synthetic stock. The stock has 2 scratches on it nothing major and the blueing is very good. I don't think it has 100 rounds through it? Does anyone have an idea what it may have sold for new and what would be a fair price for it now? For some reason the fellow thinks the 995 was a high end model, I tend to disagree? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob

The SAKO 995 was made for a few years starting about 1990. It was intended to be a budget priced rifle. It sold for about $600 new. MSRP was $695. It is a very good, modern design, with a rather tough synthetic stock. I have owned about ten if that model, including the 7 STW and the 338 Lapua. Excellent accuracy and trouble free is the way I'll describe the rifle. I did find action bedding to be beneficial especially with the Lapua. I see them for sale for as much as $1000 but don't think they are worth that. Depending on caliber and condition I'd pay as much as $800 for one. They are excellent knock about rifles. Durable, dependable and accurate.
Is there nothing so sacred on this earth that you aren't willing to kill or die for?

I sold one in good shape a couple years ago for $600. Chambered in .375 H&H. It took several months for it to sell, so I'm sure that wasn't low. Location will have something to do with it. If he is in PA, how much demand is there for a 7STW?

    Default Sako 995

First I want to thank you guys for the replies, I have 3 different gun books at home and none list the model 995. One book does list a rifle called " LONG RANGE HUNTING MODEL" long action, manufactured 1996-97, but not listed in the 7mm STW.

I picked up an M995 a few years ago in 7mm STW from someone who had no idea what it was for a very small price. I've had a couple offers around 500$ for just the action if that helps to paint a picture. Unfortunately I plan on being buried with this rifle. Pretty much like a corvette built like a tank. Try searching for TRG-S as well.
