    Default DS170 SHeep hunt

I drew the metal creek sheep tag this year and I am trying to pin down a good area to get dropped in.
It will probly be a solo hunt any help would be nice.

Probably a waste of time asking in the forum. I would pay meekins for a flight over the area this month to look it over then chat with him and pick an area.

I have hunted in Metal several times. You will have to give me contact info as I am unable to send you a private message.

Metal Creek - a really tough area to hunt. The easiest way I know to access is via Grasshopper Valley, go til almost to glacier and then pick a grassy hillside and go up and over dropping down into Metal Creek. The best access point is pretty obvious from a topo map. Sheep will often hang in the pass between the two drainages. Good luck. Back in the day there used to be some real hogs in there. You might also want to pick up a goat tag!!! Good luck.

    Unhappy

I know it has been a while since I was in Grasshopper ... but goats were registration at one time, probably longer ago that I want to recall!

Goats became a draw in there when the Unit switched to a draw for sheep. I believe it was 2006.
